We are a Sisterhood of women from all walks of life who are united by our shared Catholic faith, the love for our country, and our deep commitment to helping others.
Our members volunteer their time and talent to projects that lift, strengthen, and support our community, our fellow Knights of Columbus, and our Church, St. Francis de Sales in Vernon, NJ.
History
The Columbiettes were started in 1939 when Cardinal J. Francis McIntyre conceived an idea of a ladies’ organization to work with the Knights of Columbus. The Columbiettes, are dedicated to their patronesses:
Blessed Virgin Mary: Honored as the foundation of true motherhood and emulated for her purity and role as a Mother.
Saint Theresa, the Little Flower: Admired for her great zeal in serving God and welcoming opportunities for sacrifice.
St. Joan of Arc: Recognized for her unwavering readiness to aid those who defend righteous causes.

Meetings take place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:45 pm in Boland Hall located on church grounds. The meeting begins with the saying of the rosary followed by discussion of official business.
